The Student and Early Career Committee (SECC) of the Society for Research in Child Development welcomes applications for student dissertation research. Five grants of up to $2,000 will be given for research proposals of high merit and strong potential on child development. Submissions should currently be in the proposal stage and not yet completed, and the money is to be used for the cost of research or professional development. The deadline for applications is September 15, 2010. The recipients of the awards will be announced at the 2011 SRCD Biennial Meeting in Montreal.

The Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL) at the University of Virginia is now accepting applications for a Post-doctoral Research Associate position. Applicants should have an expertise in early childhood education and development. The successful applicant will perform research for projects of educational science, including multi-site students of large scale classroom interventions, as well as observational assessments of classroom quality and children's learning.
